Cake or pie? Heated or cold? À la mode or plain?

Cake should be eaten at room temperature and if it's my applesauce cake, should be eaten for breakfast with a cup of coffee.

Custard and cream pies should be eaten chilled.

Fruit pies should be eaten hot and definitely should be a la mode.

Mmmm, now I'm needin' me some pie.

Hmmm, I've never been a huge fan of apple pie. I've come to appreciate cooked apples more than I have before, but I'd way rather have a peach pie or a blackberry pie or some combination of fruit... like pears, nectarines and blueberries. And I kind of prefer it in crisp form rather than pie. But definitely hot and definitely with ice cream.
