Stop It!!!

Earlier this week, my parents took their boat to its new home at a marina in Corpus Christi. While they did that, I kept their dog. They didn't want to take him because he's an elderly dog and doesn't handle adventure as well as he used to. He pretty much just wants to be in his comfy bed and sleep all day. So they brought him here to stay with me while they moved their boat.

He's a very easy dog to dogsit. He really does just sleep all the time. He eats and drinks some and needs to go out occasionally, but mostly... he sleeps. And there's no question in my mind that he'd ever do anything like make messes or tear the place up. He's simply not motivated anymore to do such things.

One thing he does still do occasionally is lick himself, which I realize is totally normal for a dog, even an elderly dog. Unfortunately, the sound of a dog licking itself is one I simply cannot stand for even a moment.

Of course... he doesn't lick himself all the time or even very often really. He does, however, seem to want to lick himself in my room, just when it's most completely quiet and I am attempting to fall asleep. Which causes me to immediately fling myself out of the bed and chase him away.
